Here are the last two assignments from my drawing class. We have to start all of our pics with these crazy graphs and measurements so the assignments take forever before you even start drawing. HERE is a link to my teacher’s site. Just found this today.Very surprised. Enjoy.
Josh and Jody are both designers working on a graphic design project rebranding a local business. Josh is a much older designer, in his 60′s, while Jody is in her mid-twenties. They work with another designer, Jordana, also in her mid-twenties.
Jody gets tasked with creating a logo, while Josh creates a new website for the company. Jordana works closely with Jody to create flyers, business cards and such.
A few weeks into the project, Jody sees the website that Josh is working on, and sees a few issues with the design. Jordana agrees with the issues, and so Jody asks Josh if it would be alright to get together with him and Jordana to suggest some ideas for altering the design. Josh is offended, stating that he is near the completion of the project, and he finds it in bad form that Jody and Jordana would want to collaborate at this phase of the design. He says that the project was assigned to him, and that Jody would feel bad if the roles were reversed, and was suggested a revision of her logo once it was completed.
Jody isn’t sure what to do. She’s unsure of how to act because of Josh’s age and experience, and she doesn’t want to undermine the work that he’s done, but at the same time, she feels that since they are working on the same project together, she should be allowed to critique Josh’s work.
So, Foodcluckers… Who’s right and who’s wrong? Is Jody overstepping her boundaries by suggesting revision on another’s work, particularly so late into the design phase, or are Josh’s sentiments about revision unreasonable?
I had to draw nude figures in 2pt, 2pt vertical, and 3 pt perspectives. Still working on another that I’ll post up when i’m done.
Hey hey! I have been pretty awful about posting here. I did some covers for a magazine called The Yeti recently though, so here those are. They’re for the December and February issues. They’re both pretty different from the way I usually work and the things I usually make.
Here is this fat guy in a hospital gown that I am workin on for my character animation clars along with last week’s project from my class Drawing From The Imagination. I basically recreated our apartment here. This week I am working on two Robots in two point vertical and 3 point perspective. I’ll post it up when I finish.
Hey guys! Now that I have all this time on my hands, I’m getting back into digital painting. I barely touched the program all senior year; luckily I don’t feel too rusty.
I painted this in about 5 hours the other day, using a pencil-mimicking brush. What do you think? Granted, its not a really super detailed piece, but I’m trying to give my portraits some personality (as opposed to the vapid pleasantly smiling girls I drew in HS.)
Too embarrassed to show you guys the Dolphin i modeled in MAYA this week. It looked like a zombie shark whale dolphin. Sounds cool but it wasn’t supposed to look unrealistic, and mine did. Sooooo, i will show you this from my perspective class. I like it but it really stands out like a turd in a punch bowl next to the work from the kids who have been doing this for a while.
haha the potleaf was a joke in response to Levek’s insistence that I don’t use triangle, as in the original design. Great critique Ryan, I totally agree. Do you think this is better?
